For employees all over the globe, working without breaks simply leads to poor health and a lack of productivity. Bobby Chacko notes that workday breaks are important to help employees get up, get moving and reset their minds.

Getting Out of the Workday Rut

It’s easy to get into the rut of looking productive without being productive. Experts recommend getting up every 30 minutes and never sitting for even an hour at a time. Bobby Chacko says that it can be difficult for leaders to see this as a benefit to the workday.

While frequent breaks seem counterproductive, Chacko says it will actually increase team morale and help provide the kind of brain break needed for long periods of focus. Without workday breaks, employees tend to become antsy, stressed and somewhat foggy in their thinking.
